Morgan Fox could be on his way out at Sheffield Wednesday this summer. He’s out of contract in the coming months and no progress has been made on talks from January. The 26-year-old also has alleged interest from a number of clubs, so he may be considering his options.
Fox has turned his career around at Hillsborough and is now a regular under Garry Monk, but a lot of fans still want to see Wednesday release him. Some don’t feel he’s done enough to warrant keeping while others believe Matt Penney should replace him next season.
Anything over 100k and I’ll escort him ( at a safe distance ) to whoever wants him

As per WhoScored, Fox has made 26 Championship appearances, scored two goals, made one assist, whipped in 78 crosses with 23% accuracy, created 19 chances, completed 71.8% of his 699 passes, won 47 aerial duels (51%), had 16 shots with 12.5% accuracy, blocked 37 passes/crosses/shots, made 55 clearances and averaged a tackle (55) or interception (35) every 23 minutes.
The 26-year-old’s contract is up in the coming months, but Wednesday are hopeful of keeping him past the summer. Garry Monk would have to consider right-back Liam Palmer and midfielder Adam Reach in a makeshift role if the worst happened, so Wednesday would likely shop for a replacement left-back instead.
With Fox, Kieran Lee, Joey Pelupessy, Sam Hutchinson, Sam Winnall, Atdhe Nuhiu, Fernando Forestieri, Fraser Preston and Steven Fletcher out of contract, while Keiren Westwood is frozen out, there could be an exodus at Hillsborough. Monk can’t afford to lose valuable players, so it’s hard to see him letting Fox leave on a free transfer.
Vital Wednesday pondered the Owls signing Martin Olsson to strengthen at left-back, but it would be hard to significantly improve the defence with only free transfers and loan signings. It makes sense to keep Fox.
