With Sheffield Wednesday fans finding out the layout of the coming 2019/20 Championship campaign on Thursday as the fixtures were released for the season ahead, there’s every reason for optimism for our first full year under manager Steve Bruce, and the fixtures provided plenty of fans with an additional boost.
Opening the coming campaign with a trip to the Madejski Stadium to face Reading, our first Hillsborough clash comes against newly promoted League One side Barnsley. The remainder of August sees us travel to Millwall, host fellow newly promoted side Luton Town, and travel to Preston North End – but most seem to agree that the fixture calendar in August couldn’t have given us an easier start, or at least the opportunity for a bright start.
That does naturally balance itself out later in the year with tougher blocks of games on paper, but with fans hoping we start this season how we ended 2018/19 under Bruce, the opportunity is definitely there if we seize it.
Easiest August I've seen in a long while, hopefully we should be up there in the top few & stay there.

Always look easy but they never are. I think Reading are a dark horse this season.
