After Sheffield Wednesday fell short at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, Garry Monk could ring the changes to his side against Birmingham City. Jacob Murphy was one of many players who underperformed and may lose his place to Fernando Forestieri.

The 24-year-old has made 15 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring two goals. Murphy hasn’t always been guaranteed a starting place due to his inconsistent form, having started only twice since mid-September, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if he was taken out of the spotlight for Wednesday.

How will Sheffield Wednesday fare against Birmingham City?

Win

Draw

Lose

Forestieri has made only eight appearances in 2019/20, scoring and creating two goals. The former Italian u21 international has racked up 233 minutes of football, spending most of the campaign on the bench or injured, but he’s available for selection if Monk wants to pick him.

Wednesday have scored one or less goals in seven of their last eight games. Murphy has created only five chances in his last 10 appearances and has no assist to his name this season. Forestieri has contributed as many league goals as Murphy in fewer minutes, so should he be given a chance?
