Saturday was a disappointing day for Sheffield Wednesday fans as a penalty double sent us to defeat at Deepdale against Preston North End.

With Moses Odubajo bringing down Sean Maguire, Daniel Johnson stepped up to bury his first penalty in the 32nd minute and in an almost repeat incident including both players, Johnson took full advantage to bury a second from 12 yards in the 65th minute. Steven Fletcher did manage a consolation with 12 minutes remaining in the game, but given we slightly edged the statistics on the day, there will be fans taking the positives on offer.

Website Whoscored gave Fletcher their star man award with a score of 7.94 as he took Man of the Match on the day and they named Tom Lees (6.89), Morgan Fox (6.70), Julian Borner (6.66) and Adam Reach (6.61) as making up our top five best performers across the 90.

Caretaker gaffer Lee Bullen will be looking for us to be more clinical at the next time of asking.
