In one of today’s early third round FA Cup clashes, Sheffield Wednesday welcomed Luton Town to Hillsborough.

Following the appointment of Steve Bruce as our new gaffer, whilst he remained absent today as he’s not set to take the role on until the end of the month, newly appointed assists Steve Agnew and Stephen Clemence joined former caretaker gaffer Lee Bullen in the dugout for the tie.

After a goalless first half, Wednesday were on top in the game and we were looking to make that count in the second period. Unfortunately, we couldn’t do that and with no side breaking the deadlock, the fulltime whistle went with the scores tied 0-0.

We now head to Kenilworth Road in the coming weeks (January 15) for a Cup reply and by the time the game ticks around, we will know our potential fourth round opponents as the draw takes place next Monday.

Agnew was on media duties following the game.
