According to Nottinghamshire Live, Moses Odubajo has ‘returned to full fitness’ ahead of football’s potential return in June. The 26-year-old struggled for playing time during the second half of the season due to a hamstring injury.
He’s made a full recovery, however, and will be in contention of starting if Wednesday are allowed to resume the campaign – the Owls will find out the EFL’s decision in early-June.
Odubajo was a free transfer who had recently left Brentford when Wednesday came knocking. The right-back has gone on to make 17 appearances in his debut season, but he’s featured only twice in the Championship since the turn of the year.
Liam Palmer has been a regular under Garry Monk and Odubajo recently admitted that he nearly left the club in January, so his future at Hillsborough is uncertain. The 26-year-old is in the last year of his deal and may not be handed an extension if he fails to command a starting place, so he can’t afford to remain on the periphery if the season resumes.
Wednesday still have nine games remaining – Nottingham Forest, Bristol City, West Bromwich Albion, Swansea City, Preston North End, Queens Park Rangers, Huddersfield Town, Fulham and Middlesbrough – so there are many opportunities for Odubajo to establish himself.
Time will tell how he fares, however.
