Sheffield Wednesday suffered a 3-1 defeat to Preston North End on Wednesday and Dominic Iorfa was one of many players who underperformed on the night. The 25-year-old has been one shining light of a bad season for Wednesday, but he was at fault for multiple goals in midweek.
Iorfa lost an aerial duel in the build-up to Preston’s equaliser, failed to get tight to Jayden Stockley who scored the second goal and he was caught high up the pitch when Preston scored their third at the death. Fans on social media let him know about too.
Iorfa isn’t good enough positionally, Borner gets physically dominated against any big striker, Palmer can’t play centrehalf
We’ve looked much better with the ball with the 3 back formation, but defensively we’re still awful, nobody knows what they’re doing back there

Borner and Iorfa. Best comedy act since Cannon and Ball.

Iorfa a very very average player. Don’t even @ me any different .

Poor today but has had more good games than bad in my opinion

Nope. Just runs about a lot so people think he’s great. He’s average at very best.

Against Preston, Iorfa played for 90 minutes, had 47 touches, won two aerial duels, completed 83.3% of his 36 passes, created one chance, had two shots without hitting the target, attempted eight long balls with 50% accuracy, blocked one shot, gave away three fouls and won one free-kick.
The 25-year-old has made 53 appearances in all competitions since joining from Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2019, scoring four goals with three assists. Iorfa has been a regular this season, making 41 appearances across the board, but he’s on the wrong end of results and really struggled against Preston.
