Despite being first-choice under Garry Monk, Cameron Dawson has an uncertain future at Sheffield Wednesday. The 24-year-old is out of contract next summer and is yet to put pen to paper on an extension. He’s also been linked with a move to Rangers and Derby County, so Wednesday need to tie him down to a new deal as soon as possible.
Dawson has dethroned Keiren Westwood in goal and has been called the future of the club by Monk, so there’s great hope that he’ll stay at Hillsborough past 2020. But with Wednesday in poor form of late, losing back-to-back Championship games, supporters are naming which players should be kept and sold in January. Dawson is somebody they’re desperate to retain.
Lets hope that january sees a sensible policy of trading. Dawson, börner, iorfa, bannan, loungo, Harris are the ones i would keep 100%. But depending on the price would probably let them all go bar bannan . Something needs to change. #swfc

Striker (2 if fletch goes), two full backs, another CM and a winger please in the transfer window. Oh and let’s get Dawson tied down long term. Happy for Joey, fessi, Rhodes, odebajo all to go and send bates and Murphy back 👍🏻 #swfc

The 24-year-old has made 13 appearances in all competitions, conceding 11 goals and keeping six clean sheets, but things haven’t gone well for the shot-stopper in recent days. Dawson shipped three goals in Wednesday’s defeat to Stoke City (December 26) and two goals in their lost to Cardiff City (December 29). He’s only conceded five goals in eight league games before then.
