Sheffield Wednesday went into the September international break with a 2-1 victory over Reading at the Madejski Stadium at the weekend.
Goals from Adam Reach and Lucas Joao gave us our third three points on the spin in the Championship as early season disappointments get pushed into the background and things slowly seem to start coming together for the first team.
It was far from perfect and even the most optimistic of fans will accept plenty of improvements are still needed in overall performance levels, but we’ll take this as the corner seems to have been turned and we still have a number of players building their way back to fitness and they should provide their own boost down the line.
With ten points taken from the opening six games, it also represents Wednesday’s best start to a season since 1990/91 and that was certainly a talking point as fans took to social media to celebrate the win.
After hearing that this is the best start to a season #SWFC have had since 90/91 (when we got promoted) I've had a rush of blood to the head and I’ve whacked £20 on us getting promoted. What’s the quickest way you’ve ever wasted twenty pounds?

Whatever Jos Luhukay said to #swfc after the Brentford game, could he say it to my Fantasy Football team?

Said that Lucas Joao had the potential to be a £20 million striker during his hot spell in his first season where he played for the Portuguese national team and still believe that could be achieved judging by his recent form. Genuinely has so much in his repertoire. #swfc

Just have to keep it going for as long as we can now and bounce back from the knocks that will inevitably come, but if we can keep improving it could be a far more enjoyable season than many thoughts given the summer.
