Yesterday, Sheffield Wednesday turned the grand old age of 151 and with plenty paying their birthday respects to the club, one man’s message stood out to a lot of fans.

Former manager Carlos Carvalhal continues to be well loved by the fanbase and he took to his own social media page to Tweet the following.

Having taken the club to two Play-Off battles and been part of more successful times at Hillsborough as we looked to return to the top-flight of football before our spending caught up with us leading to a disappointing summer and leaner times in the league as we look to consolidate our position and build again from a more sustainable baseline, the message went over extremely well and he came in for plenty of praise for taking the time out.

With the club steadying itself under Jos Luhukay and continuing improvement this year, whether we’ll reach previous heights is open for debate, but three wins on the spin has certainly helped the atmosphere and with youngsters beginning to really impress that bodes well for the future.
