Sturrock said: ‘I’ve got a lot of young players and I am pleased for them – we’ve got a point. It’s been a tussle, but my boys have stuck their head in, stuck their foot in and worked very hard. It wasn’t an epic, it wasn’t a classic, it was not for the purist, but at the end of the day we will take the point and get back up the road.’

He also admitted his return to Plymouth was not an easy one and that the players were very unhappy with the penalty decision awarded against them.

‘The fans were very appreciative, but a win would have been nice,’ and ‘I have got a lot of disgruntled players in there because of their thoughts on the penalty. I can’t say anything about the referee, so we’ll leave it at that. But Plymouth did have a couple of chances. They hit the post and the bar.’
