Sheffield Wednesday boss Paul Sturrock was delighted with the way his young team grafted for a point against Plymouth.

Sheffield Wednesday’s Drissa Diallo is expected to make a return to training this week.

Sturrock has indicated he might take 25 year old Willem II striker Iwan Redan in on loan in January after he impressed during a 4 day trial with Wednesday. He told the official site ‘Some foreign players don’t adapt to the English game, but he looks comfortable playing at our high tempo,’

Joe Royle has signed Sheffield Wednesday striker Adam Proudlock on a three-month loan.

Paul Heckingbottom and Richie Partridge are both close to full fitness.

34 year old defender Lee Bullen knows he might face a fight to win back his place having recovered from an Achilles injury picked up in pre-season. He says he is now back to full fitness and ‘My job now is to give the manager a difficult decision, but he said when he first arrived here if the team wins on Saturday he would be loathe to change the starting line-up.’

MK Dons have placed a £500,000 price on striker Clive Platt due to continued links that Wednesday are chasing him.

An unnamed striker was due to sign before the weekend but the deal collapsed at the last minute due to an illness the player had picked up. However the deal is expected to be completed as the player is said to be likely to get better very quickly.
