Wednesday’s youth team maintained their strong start to the season with a draw against Manchester City.

Sean McAuley’s men kept their unbeaten run going with a draw against the country’s most well regarded academy.

The Owls had started the season with a 2-0 win over Portsmouth and followed it up with a 0-0 draw against Chelsea. Last week saw the young Owls demolish their counterparts from West Brom 5-2.

This week was little different as Wednesday acummulated a 2-0 lead, thanks to a wonderful solo strike from new Geordie recruit Scott Canham.

Pro, Vadaine Oliver then rounded the keeper to double the Owls advantage.

However, any hopes the Owls had of claiming a famous scalp were dashed by City who scored two late goals to claim a point.

Nevertheless it has been a very impressive start to the season for McAuley’s young men and they’ll hope to continue this in next week’s game against Wolves.

Kick off next Saturday is at 11am at Middlewood Road.
