Sheffield Wednesday drew 1-1 at home to Birmingham City on Wednesday and Adam Reach was one of many players who came in for criticism from supporters on social media.
The 26-year-old didn’t create a lot of chances, didn’t beat an opponent in a one-on-one, failed to find a teammate with his crosses, frequently gave away the ball and made the mistake that led to Birmingham’s goal. He was eventually hooked in the second-half.
Just watching the match now. Thoughts:
Reach needs a rest.
Nando needs a start.

Reach and Fox can go in January for me… Reach hasn’t been interested all season and Fox has had 3 good games in his whole career. #swfc

Against Birmingham, Reach played for 66 minutes, made 43 touches, created one chance, completed 71.4% of 28 passes, whipped in four crosses, made one tackle, drew one foul, made one clearance and failed to register a shot.
Wednesday are without a win in their last five games ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Charlton Athletic, so Garry Monk could make one or two changes to ensure they stop the rot.
How will Sheffield Wednesday fare against Charlton Athletic?
Win
Draw
Lose
Jacob Murphy was dropped against Birmingham after underperforming in Wednesday’s 2-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion, but he might be recalled for Reach against Charlton. Time will tell.
The Owls could also turn to Fernando Forestieri in attack, after he shone from the bench in midweek. With Wednesday scoring one or less goals in eight of their last nine games, change is needed.
