Sheffield Wednesday could be without defender against Luton Town

According to Dom Howson of the Sheffield Star, Sheffield Wednesday could be without Moses Odubajo against Luton Town. The 26-year-old has been out of action with a hamstring injury that caused him to miss Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Barnsley.

The Sheffield Star says it’s ‘unclear’ whether Odubajo ‘will be available for selection’ on Wednesday and it remains to be seen if he’s taking part in training.

Odubajo has made 17 appearances in all competitions this season and recently fought his way back into the starting eleven after a two-month exile. Liam Palmer replaced him at left-back over the weekend while Dominic Iorfa operated on the right, but Monk may ring the changes to turn Wednesday’s form around.

Morgan Fox could return against Luton, so Palmer may be ousted from the starting eleven. But if Odubajo isn’t fit and Monk wants to put Iorfa back into the middle to replace the out-of-form Tom Lees or Julian Borner, there will be a place for Palmer at right-back.

Despite picking up only one win in eight ahead of their midweek clash, Wednesday are favourites to seal victory against bottom-of-the-table Luton Town. The Hatters have lost nine of their last 11 league outings and concede more than two-goals-per-game on average.
