Wednesday trailist Padraig Amond will get another outing tonight when the Owls take on Stocksbridge Park Steels in a friendly.

The Irish striker only arrived on trial at Hillsborough yesterday and was thrown straight into the squad for the Owls’ 2-1 friendly victory over Rotherham United at the Don Valley Stadium.

The 23-year-old former Shamrock Rovers man replaced Clinton Morrison for the second half and the Owls went on to score two goals in quick succession after a first half without any goals.

Amond is set to get more game time to impress boss Gary Megson when a Wednesday XI take on the Steels at the Look Local Stadium (kick-off 7.45pm).

The side is expected to be made up mostly of Academy players following last night’s clash at Don Valley and before Saturday’s visit of Leeds United.

Amond’s inclusion will raise more interest in the fixture and the young Irishman will be looking to continue his form from last night to try and earn a permanent deal at Hillsborough.
