Wednesday have had a bid turned down for highly-rated Motherwell defender Mark Reynolds, according to BBC Scotland.
Reports linked the Owls with a swoop for the 23-year-old, who has been capped for Scotland B, earlier in the week and a bid of £100,000 has been rejected, according to the report.
Wednesday boss Alan Irvine has been keen to bolster his defence and is thought to have targeted Reynolds, who was subject of a £750,000 bid from Rangers in 2008.
That interest could now have cooled, especially considering Irvine has brought defender Reda Johnson and Michael Morrison to Hillsborough this week.
Reynolds is out-of-contract at the SPL side this summer though, so it may not be the last we hear of Wednesday’s interest in the defender.
