Owls’ physiotherapist John Dickens is set to move to South Yorkshire neighbours Doncaster Rovers after resigning from the club yesterday according to reports.

Dickens follows former assistant manager Kevin Summerfield and former defensive coach John Blackley out of the Hillsborough door after the shock sacking of boss Paul Sturrock last Thursday.

And neighbours Doncaster Rovers are set to complete the signature of Dickens this week – leaving Wednesday on the look-out for another member of staff.

John began his physiotherapist career at Portsmouth in 1984 after gaining Chartered Physiotherapist status four years previous. He then went on to work at Bournemouth before moving north with Huddersfield Town where he spent five years.

He moved to Hillsborough in the summer of 2001 and has worked alongside Paul Sturrock, Chris Turner and Terry Yorath during his five-year spell at Wednesday.
