Strikers Deon Burton and Marcus Tudgay are top of Paul Sturrock’s shopping list according to the Sheffield Star.

Wednesday boss Paul Sturrock has made it clear that he wants two strikers in place when the transfer window re-opens on January 1st, and his options are running out as Kilmarnock Striker Kris Boyd looks bound for Rangers.

Burton, 29, has scored 13 goals in his 25 appearances for the Millers after moving from Brentford last season. He scored in both league matches against the Owls for Brentford last season, and was involved in the team that got beat in the play-off semi-final.

The former Derby man may have been the reason for Paul Sturrock attending Rotherham’s match with Colchester last month, when he scored a penalty.

Tudgay, 22, has already been linked with a loan move to Hillsborough earlier in the season. He’s netted 17 times in 52 starts for the Rams, and played in their defeat at Hillsborough in November.

Wednesday still have a bid for Kilmarnock striker Kris Boyd accepted, with Boyd expected to talk to the club in the coming days.

Pundits in Scotland believe the SPL top-scorer is biding his time for a move to boyhood club Glasgow Rangers, who have not yet made contact with Kilmarnock.
