Wednesday have extended the deals of loan pair Jeremy Helan and Mamady Sidibe.

The duo will remain at Hillsborough until Saturday, January 19 to try and aid Wednesday’s climb up the Championship table over the hectic Christmas and New Year period.

Owls boss Dave Jones brought Helan in on an emergency loan deal from Manchester City, while striker Sidibe arrived on a similar deal from Premier League side Stoke City.

France-born Helan has started six games since his arrival and even scored the Owls’ second goal in their 2-0 win over Charlton Athletic at the weekend when he was moved on to the wing instead of left-back.

Sidibe, 33, has made three appearances but has so far failed to find the back of the net.
