Official: Defender returns for Sheffield Wednesday, could feature against Charlton

|

Ozase Urhoghide has returned for Sheffield Wednesday after serving a one-match ban and could feature against Charlton on Wednesday evening, the club have confirmed.

The 19-year-old was sent off for two bookable offences in the Owls’ 3-0 defeat to Reading (February 15), but it remains to be seen who Garry Monk will start at right-back against Charlton.

Should Morgan Fox start at left-back, Liam Palmer will be free to line up on the opposite flank, meaning Urhoghide would be named on the bench.

The Englishman has endured a difficult period after making his first-team debut, so it may be wise from Monk to tak him out of the spotlight.

Fans were critical of the Wednesday manager for starting him against Reading, as they believe he isn’t quite ready. Urhoghide has made only four appearances in the first-team this season.

He had 90 minutes in the Owls’ FA Cup win over Brighton & Hove Albion (January 4), 85 minutes in their 2-0 win over Leeds United (January 11), 44 minutes in their 5-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers (January 18) and 49 minutes against Reading.
