Sheffield Wednesday gave an update on Atdhe Nuhiu, confirming the 30-year-old has returned from international duty ‘in good shape’ ahead of Saturday’s meeting with West Bromwich Albion.

How will Sheffield Wednesday fare against West Bromwich Albion?

Nuhiu has made 14 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring and creating three goals. The Kosovo international has only made four starts in the Championship, however, and is enduring a two-month goal drought. The last time Nuhiu rippled the back of the net was against Fulham on September 21.

As per WhoScored, he’s only averaged one shot on target every 103 minutes, has been dispossessed 21 times and made 15 unsuccessful touches. Despite their bright start to the season, Wednesday have been short of goals – the Owls have scored one or less in six of their last seven league outings.

Steven Fletcher leads the scoring charts with five goals in 15 appearances, but Wednesday’s next highest scorer only has two – Jacob Murphy, Kadeem Harris, Massimo Luongo. They’re overdue a goal from Nuhiu, and things may be looking up for the 30-year-old after he scored while on international duty.

Nuhiu netted in Kosovo’s 2-1 defeat to the Czech Republic on November 14 and will hope to continue his run of form upon his return to domestic football.
