Wednesday boss Dave Jones bemoaned his side’s bad luck after Nottingham Forest inflicted a third straight defeat on the Owls at the City Ground on Saturday.

Miguel Llera’s own goal with 15 minutes to go gave Forest all three points thanks to a slender 1-0 victory in the Championship but Wednesday had their fair share of good chances to take more from the match.

They didn’t take them, and the Owls boss was forced to reflect on another performance he believed should have merited more for his men.

“I am starting to sound like a broken record but what more do we have to do?,’ Jones told the official SWFC website.

“We have created plenty of chances, we have had them pinned back but if we don`t score the goals, we don`t win the games.

“And we should have had the game sewn up long before they scored and when they did score, it was an own goal.’

Jones has been hard at work looking for a striker to bolster his attacking options over recent weeks and he’ll ramp up that search this coming week.

Connor Wickham, the Sunderland striker, is one name who has been doing the rounds and Jones will be hoping the England under-21 man, or another of his targets, manage to make their way to Hillsborough before next Saturday’s home clash against on-song Leicester City.
