Although Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Barry Bannan didn’t exactly steal the show with his own individual performance against former club Aston Villa last weekend, his steady approach to the game more than kept us ticking over as we took all three points and now it’s all eyes to table topeprs Leeds United.
The 28-year-old Scottish international took to social media following the game, as he tends to do, and again his message was incredibly simple, but like usual, it was incredibly well received amongst Owls fans who tinker with the interweb.
Great victory at the weekend now onto Friday we go ⚽️⚽️ pic.twitter.com/2gCH6sRAzv

After a slow start to the 2018/19 Championship campaign, Wednesday’s form has definitely turned now and we are growing a much stronger backbone in matches once again so there’s every reason to be positive moving forward.
Let's batter the dirty Leeds Bazza ???????????? x

I doubt anyone is getting carried away and imagining a Play-Off battle once again as with off-pitch issues it is a season of consolidation in some ways, but there’s nothing wrong with the strands of optimism and we could be setting ourselves up nicely for next season.
Friday against Leeds United is obviously a massive tie for the obvious reasons and the season won’t hang on it, but another three points would definitely see the mood and spirit grow further.
