In what turns out to be not much of a surprise to many fans and certainly Wednesdayites. This given the club’s extensive summer recruitment campaign under Carlos Carvalhal and of course funded by Dejphon Chansiri. Wednesday paid nearly £800k to agents upto September 30th of this year. This end date emcompasses the recruitment of multi-million pound signings of Fernando Forestieri, Lucas Joao, Marco Matias and players such as Barry Bannan, Ross Wallace and Lewis McGugan as well as the loan signings of Daniel Pudil, Jack Hunt and Alex Lopez. Which puts the Owls ninth out of the 24 Championship clubs with Fulham, Nottingham Forest, Blackburn Rovers, QPR and Cardiff City among those above to Owls.
Many of the above mentioned clubs will have similar ambitions to that of Wednesday, which as Wednesday fans know is to be in the Premier League for the club’s 2015.
