Former Wednesday winger Etienne Esajas is on trial with League Two side Chesterfield, according to reports.
The Dutchman left Wednesday in the summer of 2010 and was on the books of Swindon Town last season before having his contract cancelled by mutual consent this summer.
The 27-year-old is now on trial with the Spireites, according to BBC Radio Sheffield, looking to win a contract with the Derbyshire club.
Esajas made over 50 appearances for the Owls during a three-year stint after moving from Vitesse, scoring five goals along the way.
