All Change At Hillsborough

It’s all change at Hillsborough after three of the club’s coaching staff have left for Premier League Burnley while one new face has already winged in.

Tom Little, Tim Henderson and Billy Mercer have all been released from their roles at Wednesday to join up with former Owls boss Brian Laws at Turf Moor.

The two clubs have agreed a compensation package for the trio, with the deals somewhat expected following Laws’ appointment as Clarets boss last week.

But new Owls boss Alan Irvine has acted quickly to fill the gap, bringing in former Preston North End goalkeeping Andy Rhodes to the club.

Rhodes was appointed to the same role at Deepdale under Irvine in 2008 and has also enjoyed coaching roles at Ipswich Town and Oldham Athletic.

Irvine will continue to add more senior coaching staff in due course.
