Wolverhampton Wanderers have today moved quickly to quash rumours linking former Owls boss Gary Megson with a move to Molineux.

Reports in today’s national media said Wolves, battling for their Premier League survival this season, were looking at Megson to help them avoid the drop.

But the club confirmed via its official Twitter account that there was ‘No truth in today’s Gary Megson story at all.’

Wolves fans have questioned the handling of the manager’s job at Molineux after appointing the inexperienced Terry Connor to replace Mick McCarthy.

Conner has been appointed until the end of the season, while Megson was sacked as Wednesday boss at the end of last month.
