Friday evening’s clash between Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough was always going to be a tough affair against Tony Pulis’ high flying boys and having established themselves a 2-0 lead, another Adam Reach goal as he seemingly wants to compete against a shortlist of himself for Goal of the Season proved to be only a consolation for us.
Reach also hit the woodwork earlier in the game and had that gone in, it might have been a different 90 minutes for head coach Jos Luhukay and his side. As it was, we may have nicked a point through Atdhe Nuhiu’s late goalmouth scramble, but it wasn’t to be as the opening 45 minutes was our better spell when it came to chances.
A sickening from the game was they opened the scoring through what can only be described as a Tom Lees error as he found himself far too easily beaten as they took advantage. For Lees, it only got worse as a misplaced pass aided them for the second.
We are yet to keep a clean sheet in the Championship campaign and many fans felt following the match that it was time for our skipper to be given a break.
What has happened to Tom Lees… #swfc

Said it before and I’ll say it again Tom Lees has never ever been a captain and never will be. My respect for Glenn Loovens keeps going up. #swfc

That error has been coming all season. He's not a Captain and can't pass a ball.

A number of fans on social media were quick to defend him based on other showings this season when he’d been far stronger at the back, but it just kind of epitomised our defence in a nutshell really.
