With the pre-Christmas news that former manager Jos Luhukay had been given his marching orders at Sheffield Wednesday, whether the players intended to or not they sent a message with victory over Preston North End as Lee Bullen once again took caretaker charge, and as we all turn attentions to our next potential gaffer – former Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce is a hit favourite.
Thoughts in the Owls fanbase are mixed on the serial promotion winner. He has the track record and he gets teams over the line, but it’s not unfair to say it’s not exactly inspiring on a football front and Bruce does like spending which is a no, no at Hillsborough.
For me, it’s a no, but I don’t make the choice. I do, however, appreciate he won’t be appointed to win promotion, he’ll be appointed to steady the ship and you only have to look at Villa to see how he helped them draw a line and look forward, changing the atmosphere in the group around, so even though he’s not for me, I more than understand the sense from those who favour him.
I’m not alone, but seemingly also not in the majority.
Proven championship manager summat we’ve needed and fans still aren’t happy, pep won’t come to Wednesday just so u all know

I'm behind Steve Bruce 100%. It would be an amazing signing. His history speaks for itself. We know our lads can play , they just need the right motivation.
