Sheffield Wednesday’s Championship campaign of 2018/19 went from bad to worse on Saturday as we made the trip to the Liberty Stadium to face off against Swansea City.

With a scoreless opening 45 minutes in Wales, Marco Matias gave Wednesday the advantage in the 63rd minute of the second half, and although it wasn’t completely convincing, some would say we were good value for the lead at the point. Others wouldn’t have begrudged the hosts a leveller and though a draw was the fair result, but the Owls don’t work like that under manager Jos Luhukay and in the space of two minutes we’d capitulated the lead and, by the fulltime whistle, had fallen to a 2-1 defeat.

There wasn’t much for travelling fans to shout about and I guess plenty will disagree with statistics website Whoscored’s player ratings on the day, but they gave Man of the Match to Atdhe Nuhiu with a score of 7.42.

Our goalscorer Matias was second with 7.13, and the top five on the day were completed by Jordan Thorniley, Adam Reach and Joey Pelupessy.

Quite where we go from here is anyone’s guess.
