Sheffield Wednesday striker Gray Madine who is presently on-loan at Championship basement dwellers Blackpool. Has spoken to the press and revealed that he is open to making his stay at Bloomfield Road a permanent one.

The 24-year-old joined the Seasiders on loan from Sheffield Wednesday last month on a deal until the end of the current Championship campaign. He has gone on to score three times in his first eight appearances for the club, making him their top scorer.

With the Seasiders looking certain to be relegated to League One at the end of the campaign. Being a huge 17 points off safety with just seven league games remaining this season. Despite the imminent prospect of relegation, Madine remains open to a permanent move to Lee Clark’s side, with his contract at Wednesday set to expire in the summer.

He said to the Blackpool Gazette –
‘The gaffer hasn’t spoken to me about next season yet but if he does we will have a chat. You never know. I have a gaffer here who I really respect and the lads are great. I can’t say a bad word about anyone here.’

Since being christened the ‘Goal Machine’ under Gary Megson the troubled forward has played over 100 league matches for Wednesday. However since the Owls promotion to the second tier he has struggled to break into the team for any length of time scoring only a handful of times.

Stuart Gray backed with new found spending power under Chansiri will have better and possibly proven option available this summer, leaving Madine surplus to requirements at Hillsborough.
