Sheffield Wednesday manager Steve Bruce’s first official time in the dugout saw the Owls take a narrow victory over hosts Ipswich Town at Portman Road last Saturday.

A solitary goal from Lucas Joao was enough to return all three points on the day but we had to wait until the 90th minute before the win was secured despite utterly dominating chances on the day.

Statistics website Whoscored were pretty positive in their player ratings following our overall performance and the star man for them with a score of 7.93 was on loan Chelsea 26-year-old Michael Hector.

Completing the top five best performers from Bruce’s first win were Morgan Fox (7.31), Adam Reach (7.29), Tom Lees (7.22) and Liam Palmer (7.08). Keiren Westwood and goalscorer Joao also received seven-plus ratings for their efforts.

Onto the next one now but the gaffer would’ve seen plenty of positives but he was right to point out we need to improve our finishing following the match.
