Scotland ended their action over the November international break in good style with a 3-2 victory over Israel in the Nations League and they earned themselves a promotion in the newfangled competition in the process.
Sheffield Wednesday striker Steven Fletcher led the line for his country on the night and although he didn’t find the back of the net, their three goals came from a James Forrest hattrick, his performance impressed a number of fans and they were quick to point it out on social media following the fulltime whistle.
Steven Fletcher’s international career seems to have come back as quick as his hair

Gotta love Steven Fletcher. Of course he is overpaid at 35k/week. It's that his fault? No, it's his stupid employers fault paying it! When he puts on a #swfc or #Scotland shirt what you always get is 100% effort and sheer class. As a supporter thats all you can ask for isn't it?!

People starting to understand what Steven Fletcher brings to a team and why he's had a long career in England. Not all forwards are measured on goals. Too many folk judge people on computer games and wikipedia stats these days.

James Forrest will rightly get all the praise for his performance against Israel, but I thought Steven Fletcher was fantastic too – particularly his hold up play. So strange being optimistic about the national team for a change.

Steven Fletcher was outstanding tonight!
The link up play with Fraser, Forrest and Christie was some of the best by a Scotland striker in a long time, his ability of holding up the ball was also fantastic!
Forrest, exceptional again!
Starting to feel a bit more optimistic ????????????????????????????⚽️

The 31-year-old does split opinions at Hillsborough but it seems you’re either in the camp who focuses on what he does on the pitch and the qualities he can bring there, or the camp who focuses on what he earns and the time he’s spent out unavailable following his arrival a few season’s back.
Confidence taken from international duty should benefit us though and that should be the focus as we head into the Derby County clash, looking to return to winning ways.
