Carlos Carvalhal has delivered some good news to Wednesdayites on the injury front with updates on Kieran Lee who is closing in on making his long-awaited comeback in time for the Owls Playoff chase. After dealing well with the pressure that was on for Wednesday over Easter with Fulham, Reading and Leeds all breathing down the Owls necks and desperate for points as well.

A fully fit and competitive squad will only aid the Owls over the coming weeks and Lee who was arguably Wednesday`s standout performer in the first half of the Championship season completed a full training session ahead of the Owls trip to beat QPR.

Lee successfully underwent in January a hip operation and coupled with Sam Hutchinson making his way back to full fitness, Carlos spoke to The Sheffield Star detailing the good news to fans:

“Kieran is training normal which is good news but of course his physical condition is not the best.

“We know Kieran can surprise us so let`s see how good a reaction he has in the next few days.”

Wednesday have been short on central midfield options, with Lee, Sam Hutchinson (calf) and Almen Abdi (knee) unavailable for selection leaving Bannan and Jones the last men standing, Carvalhal added:

“We want all the players available and to be with a full squad. It makes a big difference when we start to play with the players who can link the game.”

“With Sam, we have expectations that he can play before the end of the season but let`s see. We will see day by day.”
