Wednesday Hold Medical For Wolves Defender – Not A Loan

|

The transfer speculation has again kicked up a notch in the last hour and now Sheffield Wednesday are reported to have struck a deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers for young defender Dominic Iorfa.

Sky Sports have reported within the last hour that the 23-year-old Wolves Academy graduate is currently undergoing a medical ahead of a move that will most likely be a permanent deal, and not a loan deal for the remainder of the season.

The player has been with Wolves for the last eight years and the former England Under 21 international last featured for them back in May 2017. He spent last season out on loan with Ipswich Town for the entire campaign and so far in 2018/19 he’s been a regular at Under 23 level for them.

Following their promotion to the Premier League Iorfa as Championship champions last year (91 starting appearances and two substitute showings) he’s simply dropped down the pecking order given their recent strengthening so this could certainly be a key capture for us if it is a permanent deal as stated.
