Sheffield Wednesday manager Jos Luhkay has remained coy on transfer talk as you’d expect today in his pre-game press conference ahead of the tie against Hull City this weekend.
Meeting with the media for his normal weekly obligation, transfer talk was obviously a hot topic of discussions for the man and coaxing answers in generality – he just admitted that you can’t ‘guarantee’ anything whilst the window is still in operation and he wouldn’t really be drawn further than that.
He also wouldn’t be drawn on the future of goalkeeper Keiran Westwood and whether or not he’d come back into his plans if a move doesn’t materialise today, stating that everyone knew ‘his opinion’ and that hadn’t changed.
The good news came on a player injury front as he revealed that Kieran Lee was now back running at the training ground but he wasn’t yet training with the team. Obviously, that’s a step in his rehabilitation though and hopefully, he’ll progress from there.
Luhukay also confirmed that Gary Hooper was ‘progressing’ in his own return to fitness and he had returned to training last Monday with the group, but he will need some Under 23 action to bring his fitness on further before he can come into first-team contention – but again it’s a good step in his own recovery.
Kieran Lee is running again but not training yet with the team, according to Luhukay.
Gary Hooper is “progressing” and will train with 1st team on Monday.
Luhukay says Lee and Hooper will need to play Under-23 matches before being considered for first-team selection. #SWFC

He added that with Atdhe Nuhiu serving his one-game ban this weekend, that although Steven Fletcher wasn’t yet ready for a full 90 minutes he did come into his thoughts for the weekend for possibly an hour as an option.
