Wednesday Chasing Premier League Winger As The Clock Counts Down

|

With it seeming that Sheffield Wednesday are now close to the double captures of Chelsea’s Michael Hector and Queens Park Rangers midfielder Massimo Luongo, it’s also been reported that yesterday evening we would learn if our approach for winger Newcastle United’s Jacob Murphy has been successful or not.

The Star covered the speculation earlier this morning and claimed that talks were ongoing with Newcastle over a season long loan deal for the 24-year-old who once cost them a reported £12million and even though he’s now out of favour at St James’ Park, he was pretty impressive for West Bromwich Albion in the 2018/19 season as they almost reached Wembley in the Play-Offs.

Although The Star believes that Luongo has undergone a medical today, the chase for Murphy is more difficult as apparently a number of second tier sides are after him and they namecheck Derby County, Huddersfield Town and Fulham as being interested.

With the transfer deadline almost upon us, at least we appear to be making strong moves now.
