Wednesday boss Stuart Gray has looked back upon two big chances that his side missed as the Owls stumbled to a 2-0 defeat to Norwich on Easter Monday.

With Norwich having the upper hand, Wednesday fought back and carved out two chance with the game still goalless in the first half. Loanee winger Lloyd Isgrove spurned a shot wide from a good position in the box. Shortly after Northern Irish forward Caolan Lavery missed the target as well that would have given the away side the lead. Shortly after Canaries midfielder Bradley Johnson ensured his side claimed all three points with a neat header after Wednesday failed to clear their lines for his and Norwich City’s first. Followed a little later on by his second, after Wednesday failed to clear once again from a corner leaving Johnson to finish from six yards.

After the game in Norfolk, Gray spoke to swfc.co.uk and said –
“This game is all about taking your chances and we didn`t take ours. We had two clear chances but didn`t trouble the keeper and had we taken one of them, we might well be talking about a different outcome to the game. But credit Norwich, they took their chances, they are a very good side and I think overall they deserved the win.”

Wednesday boss said what many fans who made the long journey to Carrow Road, that the Owls were not at their best. Claiming that two games in three days hampered his side and also he is demanding a big improvement for the visit of Charlton on Saturday (11th April).

He added to swfc.co.uk –
“Our defending was not good enough today. We stood off them, we didn`t get our challenges in and you can`t allow a side like Norwich the kind of room we did on the ball. Football is a simple game when you get it right in both boxes and we didn`t do that today. I have said that to the players and I have told them I want to see a big improvement for Charlton on Saturday.”

Hillsborough has far from been the fortress it was in seasons gone by and Wednesdayites would be more than happy to witness a home win.
