Hartlepool United caretaker boss Mick Wadsworth is hoping to dish out some revenge on Wednesday in tonight’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie at Hillsborough.

The Owls thrashed Hartlepool 5-0 in their npower League One clash at Victoria Park earlier in the season.

And Wadsworth is urging his side to gain revenge for the defeat at S6 tonight and bag a place in the area semi-finals.

He told the official Hartlepool website: ‘It’s a payback game for us hopefully.

‘They gave us a bit of a rousting really when they came to our place – we’d started the season reasonably but that day we got caught out from the first few minutes.’

The Owls netted five goals for the second time this season when they progressed through the FA Cup 1st round with a 5-2 victory at Blue Square Premier side Southport, while ‘Pool could only manage a 0-0 draw against Vauxhall Motors.

The Owls will be firm favourites to progress at Hillsborough tonight but will no doubt be wary that United will be out for revenge.
