One loss and two home draws is an average start to a season in many fans eyes. Yes, despite chances and bringing on Fletcher!!! Wednesday haven’t earnt those three-points needed to build confidence in their 2017/18 EFL league campaign. A trip south to the capital against familiar foes Fulham could be at the right time or the very wrong time for Carlos and his troops.

The Portuguese Owls boss isn’t daft and is well aware of the social media fans backlash, with Chansiri feeling it worthy of discussion at fan interaction events earlier this month. Ahead of the trip to South West London, Carvalhal spoke to swfc.co.uk and the media where he spilt out his frustrations of the Osld falling behind in every game and climb a hill thereafter to salvage a draw or win (EFL Cup), he said:

“There are positives and negatives about this situation. The negative of course is that you begin losing the game.

“The positives are you must be with a strong team, strong hearts and strong feelings to change the things.

“If not, you will never return in one game. But it is something we are trying to correct. I believe that things will change about this situation.

“We are creating the chances but our players and team never give up.

“They do completely the opposite which is why I am really very proud about my players, fans and the way we are dealing with the problems other teams are giving to us.”

The Owls head to Fulham tomorrow and Carlos Carvalhal is keen for his side to end an unwanted run of falling behind in games. Wednesday have conceded first in each of their games so far but in the last three, fought back to advance in the Carabao Cup and gain a point from the draws with QPR and Sunderland.
