Time to put Tuesday evening`s annoying point against lowly Burton Albion behind us as Wednesday face a tougher looking task this weekend in Birmingham. As they head south to face Aston Villa at historic Villa Park, a stadium fit for the Premier League akin to Hillsborough, but it’s Wednesday on current form and present league standings who are more likelier to see their historic stadium back amongst England’s elite.

Carlos Carvalhal says his players will relish the Villa Park environment and occasion on Saturday, in front of another packed away end.
Carlos says his players are ready to go and fight for the three points on offer, as he told

“It will be a difficult game,” he said during Friday`s pre-match press conference. “Before the last game they won three in a row.

“Playing at Villa Park is a big motivation for the players and managers and we know all the time that Villa are a tough team.

“They are a massive club that are not in a good position at the moment but the value is there.

“Understanding this, we expect a tough game but we will be ready.”

After a hard fought draw at Norwich and win at St James Park at Christmas time, the Owls have enjoyed a positive season against the three relegated last season and Carlos is keen to see that continue:

“We like these kind of games, our players like these kind of games and we will be ready.

“All the time, these kind of teams are a big threat but we are fully focused and with motivation.

“We didn`t finish the last game in a poor situation, we had 70% possession, a lot of crosses, a lot of shots, we are in a good position and have every reason to feel positive ahead of the next game.”
