Wednesday were left ruing a missed penalty and a failure to test an aging goalkeeper as they went down by a solitary goal at Elland Road.

Zome fans, reacted angrily calling for changes just months after singing Carlos Carvalhal`s name along Wembly way. Not quite in the league of sacking Claudio Ranieri as Leicester City have done so, but with the merry-go-round of managers available presently, who would you see performing better in arguably the hardest league in Europe to escape from given the prize at the end.

Wednesday, however are still clear of the chasing pack and looking up the league as they welcome back to back home games against Norwich and Burton in early March and Carvalhal saw enough of a fiercely contested derby display to indicate positive signs for the remainder of the season, as he told swfc.co.uk, saying:

“I thought the first half was very even apart from one second of concentration and Leeds score the goal.

“Then in the second half we have the chance to score with the penalty and the goalkeeper makes the save.

“But this is football and these things happen in football. It is now about being strong and coming pack positively in the next game.”

That next game is against Norwich City, the former Premier League side have performed similar to the Owls this season with a run of wins coming amongst a run of losses. February has proved that for Wednesday with four wins backed by a double of defeats at the hand of Brentford and Playoff racers Leeds.

He continued:

“We started the game positively, we controlled the second half but we did not get something from this game. But the signals are positive because we came to Elland Road in a big atmosphere and were the better side in my opinion.

“We deserved at least a point but we did not get it so we move on.

“Three of our next four games are at Hillsborough so we need everyone who loves this club to help make an impact because we are at the most important part of the season.
