LAST MATCH –

English Championship
On Saturday April 23rd, 2016
Derby 1 (Bent 82) Wednesday 1 (Bannan 69)
HT 0 – 0 FT 1 – 1

Wednesday’s hopes of moving closer to the play-offs were dashed as substitute Darren Bent netted a late equaliser to earn Derby a 1-1 draw from pulsating clash between two of the Championships best at the iPro Stadium.

Wednesday have a seven point gap over seventh placed Cardiff City who face Bolton Wanderers after Wednesday’s match has finished. The lead could be cut to four points ahead of the Bluebirds visit to Hillsborough next weekend. The game was as many expected between two high scoring, low conceding teams.

A superb strike from Scottish international Barry Bannan put Wednesday ahead in the second half but Bent scored with his first touch eight minutes from time to earn the Rams a point.
