Barry Bannan was praised by supporters after Sheffield Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Charlton Athletic, but he wasn’t the only midfielder to impress on the night. Kieran Lee also shone at Hillsborough and was hailed by fans for his contribution over the 90 minutes.

The 31-year-old had a lot of possession in the middle of the park to pull the strings, created numerous chances for his teammates and made more tackles than any other player on the pitch.

Against Charlton, Lee made 55 touches, won one aerial duel, created three chances, had one shot, completed 79% of his 38 passes, whipped in two crosses, found a teammate with two of his five long balls, made four tackles, drew one foul and had one successful dribble.

The experienced central midfielder has made 23 appearances in all competitions this season, making five assists. Lee has been a regular under Garry Monk, keeping his place while the likes of Sam Hutchinson and Joey Pelupessy have been dropped, and his performance against Charlton showed why.

Where will Sheffield Wednesday finish in the Championship?

1st - 6th

7th - 14th

15th - 21th

22th - 24th
