Wednesday’s in-form striker Marcus Tudgay insists he’s loving life as a Wednesday player – and has started discussions about extending his stay at Hillsborough.

The former Derby frontman has been arguably Wednesday’s player of the season so far this term, finding the back of the net no less than 13 times in the Championship so far.

And with form comes reported interest from other clubs around the division – but Tudgay insists he’s loving life in the blue and white stripes.

‘I love it here. I live very close to the ground, I get on very well with all the players in the squad and I’m working with a top manager in Brian Laws,’ Tudgay told The Professional Footballers Association official website.

The striker has already won the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month accolade twice this season.

And Wednesdayites have been keen to see Tudgay pen a new deal to keep him at S6 as boss Brian Laws looks to build his squad for next season.

It may not be far off – with Tudgay revealed that discussions have already started about extendinng his stay as an Owl.

He continued: ‘The club has recently started talks with my representatives so we will see what comes out of it – hopefully something will be sorted out in the not-to-distant future.’
