Wednesday will be hoping it’s third time lucky if press reports are to be believed and the Owls are continuing efforts to sign Derby’s Chris Maguire.

The Owls are understood to have already had two offers for the Scottish striker turned down by the Rams, but Wednesday boss Dave Jones is eager to get his man.

Reports today are suggesting a third bid has been lodged for the former Aberdeen man and the Pride Park club could well cash-in if the price is right this time.

Maguire has struggled to adjust to life with the Rams and he made just three starts last season before being loaned out to Portsmouth.

County boss Nigel Clough has said he’d sell the striker if Derby received the right offer.
