Sometimes there are times when you feel bad looking at things you shouldn’t, rubbernecking on a motorway as you pass past a crash or logging online to see the world has ended when Wednesday lose a match. Ok, the two aren’t related or anywhere near as bad situations, but some choose to overreact as if the Owls losing is akin to tragic accident, it isn’t! Sure, I’m not saying we as a fanbase we don’t all hurt, but calling for a coaches head after a depleted Wednesday side lose to a former Premier League side away and with 10-men and a makeshift defense with 20 minutes left.

Sure, a draw against 11 defenders on Tuesday night and a loss at Villa Park are annoying but Wednesday are much in the playoff mix and with a fully fit squad in May, Wednesday stand a great chance of going one better than they did last season. Additions like Fletcher, Rhodes, Winnall, Abdi, Fox and McManaman have undoubtedly added quality to the Owls squad and the lottery of the playoff semi-final`s and potentially another Wembley final, we’ve as good of a chance as any other side from Newcastle down to Fulham in grasping a return to England’s top flight and in turn ending our exile.

Next up, it’s another tough test against a side in the playoff mix with us and similar form to boot. Reading under the guidance of Dutch and Manchester United legend Jaap Stam will present a big challenge but one Wednesday have proved when the chips are down this season they are more than capable. Back the boys and back Carlos loud and proud, whether it’s at S6 or away, as we fans are needed now and in the next 10 weeks. Not quite a bladesacoaster but something similar eh!?
