Owls boss Paul Sturrock has revealed he wants to add two more players to bolster his Wednesday squad ahead of pre-season training, according to BBC Radio Sheffield.

Sturrock yesterday completed his third summer signing by bringing former Crewe midfielder Kenny Lunt to Hillsborough on a bosman free transfer. Defender Madjid Bougherra and midfielder Wade Small have also made the pre-season switch to S6.

He told BBC Radio Sheffield: ‘We have a couple of other areas we’d like to strengthen… I’ll be on the end of the phone in my hols. I’m very hopeful we can, before pre-season have the other two in place. We’re working towards making sure we’ve got the right players in the right position.’

Wednesday have been closely linked with Liverpool goalkeeper Scott Carson who spent two months on loan at Hillsborough last season. Sturrock has already admitted his interest in the former Leeds United man but may have his approach delayed due to Carson’s involvement in the World Cup with England.

Former loanee Yoann Folly has also been linked with a permenant move to South Yorkshire. Folly impressed during his time at Hillsborough and favoured a move from Southampton where he’s failed to break into the first team.
