Paul Sturrock has made a bid to loan West Brom stopper Russell Hoult according to reports in today’s newspapers.

As reported last week on Vital Sheffield Wednesday, Sturrock has targeted Hoult as a replacement for David Lucas – who will miss the remainder of the season through injury.

Hoult has only made one substitute appearance for the Baggies this season, in last week’s 6-1 defeat against Fulham, and is desperate for some first team action after being third choice at the Hawthorns.

Should the deal go ahead, Hoult will be joining the Owls until the end of the season – maybe with a view to a permanent transfer in the summer.
